When he arrived at Miami University, in Ohio in 1959, I met him on his very first day of work and I was a second year student in Mathematics and Physics. He adopted me as his favorite student and mentored me. He was fantastic at bringing out the best in a student. He groomed me to be his replacement as a graduate student with a teaching fellowship when he departed to accept a position at Florida. I consider that I was his first student and he was always my favorite professor. He launched me onto an amazing career in the computer field where I was a great success and finally retired a few years ago at age 68. We stayed in contact over the years and I absolutely loved that man...He was a great teacher and person. As a parent, when I hear a crying baby on a plane, my first thought is "those poor parents." I then either spend the rest of the trip trying to think of some way to help (there isn't one) or being appalled at the way the parent is trying to quiet the kid; there are harsh approaches that are much worse than a crying child, even for the people nearby.Nathaniel Borensteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03232212556909107350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21503568.post-39939032880552186102012-04-27T08:04:28.266-04:002012-04-27T08:04:28.266-04:00I know I'm late on this thread BUT being the m...I know I'm late on this thread BUT being the mother of two small children, who travel A LOT.... When you take a look at the outside sources who benefit the most from lotteries, it's not the lottery merchants, it's the banks getting huge windfalls.

The next step would be to bring back and allow every winner to claim a one time payout.

Just a start, but at least it's a start to getting things back on the right track.Petehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00992792183148034843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21503568.post-63668717666644455142011-12-23T21:47:51.123-05:002011-12-23T21:47:51.123-05:00Thanks, Brent.
