.

He's such a butthead!

I'm going to rant and flame here, and use some language that's unaccustomed in this blog. Because, here's the thing:

After controlling both houses of congress for 12 years, the Republicans have been trounced in the House, and have almost certainly lost the Senate. After crapping on the Democrats — really, crapping on them, showing no interest in any sort of collaboration or compromise — King George now has to deal with the fact that the Republicans lost 28 seats in the house and at least 5 (maybe 6) seats in the Senate, and that he'll now have to collaborate — or rot. And it's his... damn... fault.

And so now, now that any idiot can see that he has to, he finally says that he's willing to work with the Democrats in congress. That's awfully good of him, don't you think? But wait, it gets better....

His first official public statement of conciliation? Well, read it here:

I told Congresswoman Pelosi that I looked forward to working with her and her colleagues to find common ground in the next two years. As the majority party in the House of Representatives, they recognize that in their new role they now have greater responsibilities. And in my first act of bipartisan outreach since the election, I shared with her the names of some Republican interior decorators, who can help her pick out the new drapes in her new offices.

Yes, the Asshole in Chief actually thought that condescending, moronic comment was funny. Ya think he'd have said that to a man who was coming in as the new Speaker of the House? Let's get this straight, here: Speaker Pelosi is second in line to the presidency, after Dick Cheney, should something happen to The Bush, and this idiot is making sexist jokes about picking out drapes. Talk to her about running the country, asshat. She could do it a damned bit better than you!

And to you, Speaker Pelosi: Now will you consider impeachment proceeedings?

Oh, give him a break. It was funny, given his earlier joke about the optimistic Dems already measuring their curtains!

Give him a break?!! Surely you jest? After all the damage he has wrought, I would think the very last thing that person deserves is a break of any kind. Sorry, but I feel absolutely nothing but utter contempt for him, uncharitable as that may be.

Well, it's been six years of unbelievable garbage, and maybe I'll feel differently in a while, but for now I'm still filled with disgust whenever I see or hear him.

Sorry, rant over now :-)

He disgusts me too, but that really wasn't so bad. Not compared to his flat-out admitting that the whole "Democrats win, America loses" shtick was just, you know, lies for the campaign.

It's true, Fred and Karen, it wasn't so bad. It just... well, it just pushed my buttons, you know? It just happened to break the camel's back, is all.

Anyway, I feel better for having vented.

Ray, I didn't say I was fine with everything he says or does. I was only saying that I thought the curtains thing was a joke, both when he first said they were optimistic and then when the optimism was well founded. I laughed!! Really!! Maybe John Kerry could learn a thing from him? (Just kidding.)

I can't keep from adding a followup after seeing Maureen Dowd's op-ed piece (http://select.nytimes.com/2006/11/11/opinion/11dowd.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss) in today's NYT, the Drapes of Wrath :).

But in the end, when she remarks on Bush's offer to help decorate, she doesn't call him on the newly replaced carpet over it!
