Macedonia: Court Convicts a Bear
A court in the city of Bitola convicted a bear of stealing honey from a beekeeper and damaging his hives. Because the bear had no owner and is classified as a protected species, the court ordered the state to pay the beekeeper $3,500 for the damage to the hives.
